I've just finished the final instalment of The Plumberry School of Comfort Food: The Magic Ingredient and my insides feel all warm and mushy!!Part 3 had left us with quite a dramatic ending, I found myself in a bit of a muddle wondering what was going to happen next! Everything gets cleared up in part 4. I think part 4 is the most emotional part of this collection of books! I was welling up with tears one minute and chuckling the next – this series of books had some of the most heart-warming characters in it!
We follow Verity again on her adventure that has had its up and down throughout the series! We discover ALOT in The Magic Ingredient, I had one of those moments where the light flicks on in your head and you go “ahhhhh”, gaining some strange looks!!
YES!!! We finally get a good bit of romance in The Magic Ingredient (I knew it was brewing), but I won't divulge too much and spoil the story for any book dragons that are eager to read it ;-). Mostly all of the fabulous characters are back and were keeping me entertained throughout!
After reading several of Cathy’s books, I've managed to come away from everyone one WANTING to take part/do whatever she has been writing about. The Plumberry School of Comfort food is no exception. Her words come alive for me and I WANT to be in the middle of what's going on, taking part in it! Cathy is such a great writer in this respect! I found her characters to be REAL and this is very apparent in The Plumberry School of Comfort Food! They are normal and relatable and so enjoyable to read about.
The conclusion to Verity’s story was everything I wanted and I finished this series having thoroughly enjoyed it and totally satisfied! I got so attached to the characters, and will miss reading about their latest adventures - that for me is the sign of a GREAT author!!
